The work of the BRICS Business Incubator has been launched in Omsk

On May 12, the Omsk State Technical University hosted the first meeting of the Russian Coordinating Council of the International Acceleration Program "BRICS Business Incubator".

At the meeting the application period on the business incubator website bricsincubator.com was opened, which will last until June 15, 2023. Applicants for participation in the program can be entrepreneurs aged 20 to 40 from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The total number of participants will be 25 people (5 business founders from each country who have not been competitively selected).

The main goals of BRICS Business Incubator will be:

attraction of foreign investment from the BRICS countries in the development of joint

projects and the introduction of new technologies in the economic, information, and

social processes of the member countries of the association;

identification of promising entrepreneurial projects and their promotion on the

territory of the BRICS countries.

"The idea of holding the BRICS Business Incubator at the OmSTU arose at the BRICS+ International Business Forum, which took place in November 2022 in Moscow. Then its participants expressed an opinion that there is a need to create an acceleration program that promotes the development of joint economic projects in the space of the BRICS countries. And this year we are implementing this idea together with leading experts and investors from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa," said Dmitry Mayevsky, Rector of Omsk State Technical University.

At the meeting the action plan for the launch and implementation of the acceleration program, as well as interaction with foreign partners were also discussed. An important component of the business incubator in 2023 will be the invitation to cooperation of large and private investment organizations and funds from the BRICS countries, thanks to which at least 70% of the participants' projects will be financed.

"The BRICS Business Incubator is the first and only international acceleration program for entrepreneurs from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Its mission will be to develop international business cooperation between the Omsk Region and other regions of Russia with the BRICS countries, given the deep involvement of business communities, entrepreneurs, universities, investors and representatives of state authorities," said Tatiana Seliverstova, Chairman of the Board of ANO "Leaders of International Cooperation".

According to the organizers, an online educational bloc of the program will be held in July, and in August the winners of the competitive selection will come to Omsk to participate in a full-time business program.

The main organizers of the BRICS Business Incubator are the Government of the Omsk Region, Omsk State Technical University and ANO "Leaders of International Cooperation". Among the partners are the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, ANO Eurasian Investment Agency, BRICS TV, Dome Foundation Investment Club and others.
