The BRICS Business Incubator was held in Omsk

The full-time part of the BRICS Business Incubator International Acceleration Program was completed in the Omsk Region. From August 20 to 24, entrepreneurs from eight countries: Brazil, Russia, China, India, South Africa, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, – presented their projects to each other and investors in order to enhance them and attract financing for their development. They also visited Omsk enterprises and learned about the experience of Omsk State Technical University in the realization of science-intensive and technological projects.

On the final day of the program, entrepreneurs received feedback from experts, and investors. Moreover, investors selected the best participants, to whom they will assist in packaging projects, creating investment presentations and their further financing. Noteworthy, the BRICS Business Incubator participants presented such projects as the development of nanorobots for the treatment of atherosclerosis and thrombosis; technologies of high-speed dissolution of gases; technological equipment for the purification of water bodies; construction of public housing; a network of coffee shops; dental industry and others.

"It was a great event, it's priceless that we can get together like this and communicate with each other, even though we come from different countries. I would like to say that this is my first visit to Russia and I like it here, it is a beautiful country. Omsk is also a wonderful city. I hope that BRICS Business Incubators will be organized in other BRICS countries so that we can get to know them better," said Luciano Antonio Santana Ferreira, a representative of Brazil. – I am a dentist, and my project is related to a technology that allows digitizing the results of research and thus transferring them faster from the clinic to technical laboratories. I already have a partnership with China, but I would like to establish cooperation with Russia and the other BRICS countries. During these days I had time to communicate with investors and discuss the prospects of my project's development, to establish useful connections".

I believe that the organization of such platforms not in Moscow or St. Petersburg, but in such regions as, for example, Omsk, allows our friends from the BRICS or SCO countries to see what a beautiful country we have and that it is possible to develop in it," said Samvel Harutyunyan, an expert of the business incubator, Chairman of the Board of the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization "Eurasian Investment Agency". – During these days we got acquainted with many interesting projects. It is pleasant that the participants of the program think about the future, work in the sphere of ecology. These are big and complex initiatives, which are worth studying in detail. There are also more mobile, short-term projects. As a result, we have chosen several startups that we can take under our wing, and we plan to help them develop and grow from an idea to a final product.

The final event of the BRICS Business Incubator was the signing of fifteen memorandums of cooperation, both between participants and investors or experts, and between entrepreneurs from different countries.

The program also resulted in the establishment of the International Investor Council at Omsk State Technical University, which included experts who participated in the BRICS Business Incubator. The purpose of the Council will be to identify promising entrepreneurial and innovative projects among students and teachers of OmSTU, promote them in the Omsk region, Russia and foreign countries as well as attract investment in the development of these projects.

"It is great that on the final day of the BRICS Business Incubator the participants proposed the initiative to hold the next program in 2024 on the territory of all the countries of the association. Already in September we plan to hold an online organizing committee to prepare for next year's event," said Program Director Tatiana Seliverstova.

The BRICS Business Incubator was organized by the Government of the Omsk Region, Omsk State Technical University and ANO "Leaders of International Cooperation". The program was also supported by a grant from Rosmolodezh through the All-Russian Youth Project Competition.
